There are numerous reasonably priced add ons. This system works well and grows smoothly to multiple register and stores. It’s also cheaper than QB. Yeah, it runs on Windows and you have to install it, but I’m running a business here, and what I care about is resilient quick software, I prefer having it on-premises rather than in the cloud. However, I am finding that many multi-channel software companies are integrating with Quickbooks POS, probably due to their size and their marketing team. The multichannel companies don’t really know/understand the retail store experience, so they are focused on how many copies are out there, rather than whether it’s a good product or not.

Pros: The interface is pretty intuitive and provides a logical business flow model that can be followed by beginners or business owners with limited accounting knowledge. It provides lots of options for customizing reports and exporting documents into excel and pdf format. They also partner with Rightnetworks for VPN hosting as an alternative to having a local server.

Cons: We have had some trouble with recurring invoicing in the past. Recurring invoices, which were scheduled to be sent to customers, failed to send. Various calls to customer support did nothing to resolve the problem, which was a waste of time. That was not a great experience. In the end it was solved with a thorough Google search. Add to that the Quickbooks Payments System problems in implementing EMV, the whole Intuit POS system has become very unreliable.
